Fiona Wood

Creating has always been at the heart of who I am. I’m happiest with a paintbrush in my hand or working with clay, bringing ideas to life through colour, texture and form. My hands are rarely still, and I can’t imagine a life without creating.

Working from my studio in Victoria's High Country, I’m constantly inspired by the beauty that surrounds me. The changing seasons, wildflowers, gardens, native wildlife and the peaceful bush landscape all find their way into my work. I also have a deep love of animals and the ocean, and these influences often appear throughout my paintings and ceramics.

Ceramics were my first creative love, and I still delight in transforming a simple piece of clay into something beautiful and meaningful. Alongside my ceramics, painting has become an important part of my creative practice, with florals a favourite subject and colour at the heart of everything I create.

Many of my ceramic pieces feature uplifting words and gentle reminders designed to inspire positivity, gratitude and wellbeing. I hope each handmade piece brings a little joy, comfort and beauty into everyday life.

While my home is in the High Country, I also have a strong connection to the Mornington Peninsula, where a number of galleries and boutiques proudly stock my work. The contrast between the mountains and the coast provides endless inspiration and continues to shape my creative journey.
